About the Sidewalk Club

The Sidewalk Club is a publication and community for families who love the city.

We publish interviews, handbooks, essays, and urban life hacks.

We navigate the joys and challenges of raising a family in an urban environment with honesty and optimism.

We believe it’s possible to both survive and thrive in cities—making ourselves and our city better in the process.

We’re in this together!

The Creators

Neil and Mandalyn are raising their two boys in Brooklyn, NY Chicago, and built the Sidewalk Club to be a community of parents who love life in the city. The idea was born in 2017 after moving to New York City, climbing hundreds of subway stairs with a stroller, changing diapers on park benches, living without a car and not going insane, and realizing that urban family life is not for the faint of heart. They created the Sidewalk Club to be a source of support and solidarity for city families everywhere.

By day, Neil is a product designer, and Mandalyn is a photographer. Say hi on Instagram or Twitter or send an email. Connecting with Sidewalk Club readers is 👌.
