The Sidewalk Club is a publication for families who love the city.
We navigate the joys and challenges of raising a family in an urban environment with honesty and optimism.
We are kind-hearted and creative; un-fancy and affirming.
We believe it’s possible to both survive and thrive in cities—making ourselves and our city better in the process.
We’re in this together!
Neil and Mandalyn are raising their two boys in
Brooklyn, NY Chicago, and built the Sidewalk Club to be a community of parents who love life in the city. The idea was born in 2017 after moving to New York City, climbing hundreds of subway stairs with a stroller, changing diapers on park benches, surviving without a car, and realizing that urban family life is not for the faint of heart. They created the Sidewalk Club to be a source of support and solidarity for city families everywhere.
